How pain is addressed & managed in Ayurveda?
Pain in any region in the body is associated with Vata excess & imbalances.
Management of vata dosha helps to reduce the pain.
Snehanam and swedhanam are the 2 ways used to control vata.
Application of medicated oil in the pain full area, followed by sudation therapies like pindaswedham, Nadi swedham, dhara etc.,
This type of treatments are usually effective for backpain, neck pain, muscle pain etc.

Vasthi is the main treatment to control vata.
Lumbar, cervical and abdominal pain vasthi treatment is useful.
Along with this kadivasthi, januvasthi, shirovasthi, greevavasthi ect are useful to reduce pain in particular area. pizichil is also useful for pain. It gives both the effect of snehanam and swedhanam.

Through all these treatments vata will come to its normal state and pain will be reduced or cleared.
