KAPHA

Kapha is a concrete and stable substance as compared to vata and pitta.
Normal constituents that contribuite the mass of the body are called Kapha.it nourishes and enriches body.
Tissue fluids and all nutrients present in it is considered Kapha.

PROPRTIES:

Unctuous,sweet,heavy,cold,slowsoft,slimy.
Its normal function is to give steadiness,strength and virility to the body.

QUALITIES OF A KAPHA PRAKRUTI PERSON:

  • Stout and big in physique from childhood.
  • Thick eyebrows.
  • Black,thick,curly/wavy hair.
  • Big eyes.
  • Oily,unctuous skin.
  • Heavier hips.
  • Slow and steady mental state.
  • Slow grasper but never forgets.
  • Likings towards spicy food.
  • Slow and steady appetite.

 

FUNCTIONS OF KAPHA:

  • Promotes strength.
  • Lubrication and compactness of joints.
  • Promotion of healing and other repairative processes.
  • Responsible for the capacity to withstand emotions.

Activities and food that are opposite to the quality of kapha causes its decrease and vice-versa.
